How long have you known about RAAM?: I learned about the race back in 2006, where Chris MacDonald participated in the race.
How long afterwards did you decide to enter the race?: The decision to participate in RAAM 2011 was taken last year together with the other riders on our Team 4 Danes.
What triggered your decision?: The decision was easy to take - something grand, almost unreal and unhuman - and I will look forward to some day sitting in a nursery home and brag about to a limit, where everybody around me will know for sure what RAAM is!
Athletic history (cycling results & other): I have always been very active within many different sports. The last 20 years I have mostly been biking, and during this period been participating in races in many European countries.
Considering all sports, what were the events or outcomes that most impacted your life in both negative and positive manners?:
My positive experiences from biking: I have seen so many countries and met so many new and interesting people through my sport. Many of which today are my personal friends.
My negative experiences from biking. Several accidents with broken ribs, collar bone and shoulder. Going downhill until I learned the technique.
Who are your heroes? Why?: My son. Reasons are more or less my own private but I can say so much, that he is a Danish soldier doing a signigficance difference in the world scenery.
What intimidates you most about RAAM?: Lack of sleep and the heat.
Are you supporting an organization or Charity?: Tell us why. The Danish Child Cancer Foundation.
Have seen the children effected by cancer - with no hair and tubes sticking out all over... your heart just melt and you want to do something. This is my tribute to them and their fight.
Favorite quote, either famous or not, that fuels your ambition: Don't have time to waste on quotes - I'm to busy cycling.
What are your expectations from RAAM?: A unique life experience with a fantastic team.
